Writing animations: poesía visual y experimentación musical. Crítica socio-política actual.

Carlos Pedrón/ Sr. Charli es un pintor, compositor, técnico en reparación de pianos y artista multi-instrumentalista. Desde hace dos años trabaja en un proyecto audiovisual, un diario íntimo llamado “Writing Animations”. Diario animado acompañado de improvisación al piano en directo y sin dejar de lado la crítica socio-política e histórica que siempre ha marcado su trayectoria como artista. Cada actuación es una experiencia nueva y didáctica, ofreciendo al público un atmosfera de reflexión.

Carlos, autodidacta del piano, trabaja de una forma espontá- nea. Transporta al papel sus sensaciones y emociones, dando vida a sus imágenes a partir de la música y viceversa. Sus pro- pios ejercicios con los que aprende a improvisar, son los que com- ponen la melodía que acompaña a la animación proyectada. Dentro de su proyecto de investigación sonora, Carlos apren- de técnicas de restauración y afinación de piano, que le per- mite manipular y jugar con la calidad sonora del instrumento.

Desde sus inicios a mediados de 2013, han colabora- do en “Writing Animations” diferentes artistas y músi- cos como Kalma(Vj), Antoni Calbo(percusión) y Rita Athayde(cello) abriendo las puertas a futuras improvisaciones.

Writing animations: Visual poetry and music experimentation. Critical point of view of society and politics.

Carlos Pedrón/Sr. Charli is a Spanish painter, composer, piano Luthier and multi instrumentalist. For the last two years he has been working on a pro- ject called “Writing animations”, which is an audio-visual project based on his intimate animations based on his diaries.

It is an animated diary that comes along with piano live improvisation and does not leave aside the sociopolitical and historical criticism, which accompanies his career as an artist. Every show is a new didactical expe- rience offering the audience an atmosphere of reflection.

Carlos, who is an autodidact pianist, works in a spontaneous way. He trans- ports his feelings and emotions to the paper giving life to his images thanks to the music and vice versa. He learns how to improvise from his own rehearsals, which compound the melody that accompanies the projected animation.

Within his project of sound research, Carlos learns restoration techniques and piano tuning, which allows him to manipulate and play with the sound quality of the instrument.

Since he started halfway through 2013, some other musicians such as Kalma(Vj), Antoni Calbo (percussion) and Rita Athayde (cello) have co- llaborated with “Writing Animations” which all in all is opening the doors to future improvisations.
